Flea Market on a SCORCHING Murcia Sunday

Sunday, 3 May, 2015:

The temperatures in Murcia were predicted to soar into the mid-90s, so we were out of La Hacienda early to beat the heat on our way to Murcia's Sunday Flea Market.

Murcia
A city to share

I'm not sure why the & instead of an r in the word Murcia.

Love the blue tiles

The joys of the Murcia Flea Market

Laurie found four crystal cups and two pieces of silverware to bring home to America. The total cost was a mere 8 Euros or about $9.

Good buys!

Reflections

Sunday was Mothers' Day
in España

Traditionally, Mothers are honored on their day with crosses made of flowers. I suspect that these crosses are usually not as big as this one.

It was also a day for
First Communions

I had not noticed this street sign
until this morning

I just liked it

El Abanico restaurant

El Abanico is Spanish for "The Fan".

Why have we not eaten here then?

The afternoon was spent trying to figure out what to do in the next few weeks now that our Cobras season is completed.

We have decided upon a 16 day driving trip that will circumnavigate the Iberian Peninsula with stops in the cities of Málaga, Cádiz, Lisbon, Porto, Salamanca, Santiago de Compostela, Oviedo, Gijón, Santander, Bilbao and San Sebastian.

We will also try to make a visit to the tiny country of Andorra before heading North to Lyon, France to try and see the Bron-Villeurbanne Falcons playoff game on May 17th.

After our time in Lyon, we will drive back to Murcia over a couple of days.

Of course, if we find a great beach along the way, we my skip a city or two along the way. It should be a fun vacation.

In the afternoon we joined Oscar, Rosa, Alberto and Rosa's brother Enrique for some frozen yogurt to take a break from the heat. You just can't do better than meeting with them for lots of laughter on a regular basis!
